Last Minute

This image taken via satellite shows the split minute difference as night falls upon our earth. There is a distinct difference between where the light is and the darkness falls. A matter of minutes between night and day.

I had several clerks ask me yesterday, " O are you just picking up some last minute gifts?"......."Ummmmm no", I replied, " I am picking out all my gifts". I am usually really on top of my shopping, get everything done bit by bit… Continue

Christmas Test

I had fun the other weekend doing the devotions for my church's women's breakfast. I gave them a Christmas test. Here it is! (Answers next post.)

Get Covered: Why You Need a Prayer Team

(This post originated with my Facebook group: Julie Arduini: The Surrendered Scribe)

Whether you were the kid or now are the parent, you can relate to the admonishment, "get covered". I say it all the time with the kids, especially the youngest. Her breathing transitions with weather changes and she's always the last one to put a coat on, let alone zip it up. This leaves her vulnerable to things she… Continue

Got Hope?

by Leigh Ann Napier, iBloom Associate

It’s not as easy as it should be to spot a Christian. Many Christians today are choosing to wear camo.

They are blending in with the rest of the world. Why?

• Some fear being different.

• Some aren’t confident of their inheritance

• and some are just too darn focused on themselves. They simply don’t think about what anyone

else sees in them or… Continue

In Search of Joy

by Leigh Ann Napier, iBloom Associate

If you are a Christian, you have every reason to be joyful…even in the midst of pain, turmoil, uncertainty, and yes, of course, when life is going smoothly. If you aren’t feeling the joy, then it is time to go searching for it.

Just like our car keys, the “other” sock, our car in a parking lot, and any item we could possibly be searching for in our purse, JOY can… Continue

Biblical Women And Who They Hooked Up With

My first foray into nonfiction! Get to know, up close and personal, a few of my most favorite biblical women. Women who, stunningly, are very much like you and me ... except the didn't have indoor plumbing and a few other creature comforts.Biblically accurate, I work to bring these godly women to life with a little bit of humor, a lot of interesting facts and some thought-provoking questions. The very same struggles we face today, these women faced as well. Why not take a moment or two to… Continue

Joining The Club

Without God, I am a shy, introverted, insecure woman who feels that she's never pretty enough, smart enough, clever enough, or strong enough to be much good to anyone. With God, I have learned to battle my personal demons. I still quake with fear before I do something public like speak before the church, conduct a training session for my peers, or present my written works to curious strangers. But I do it because I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that once I get up there magic happens… Continue

A Well Behaved Woman's Life

Each of my books start in my head with a vivid image that I just can't ignore. For this book - my first foray into contemporary story writing - the initial image I had was of the rather bizarre "shower scene" in the first chapter. My main character, Bee, is so bleak at the start of this story that she describes her life as "numbing grayness." I wanted to create a character that had, on first glance, nothing much to live for. Unquestionably, Bee's had a raw deal in life. When she says, with… Continue

The Butler Did It

Have you ever said something like, "If only I was rich …" or "If only I was successful …" implying that what you have can't make you happy, but rather it's what you want. Life tends to teach you that happiness is more an internal rather than an external goal. At some point along this walk, we have to stop looking with longing towards what we don't have and appreciate what we've got. I explore this whole concept in The Butler Did It, giving a majority of my characters money and power and yet… Continue

Rules For Survival and Recipe For Disaster

Rules for Survival came first out of these two. I always have 'pet' names I call my books before the title finally 'speaks' to me and I initially called this one 'Choices.' I wanted to delve into the concept of just how powerful and life altering even the smallest of choices can be in steering the entire direction of our lives. Paul, the hero of Rules is the unquestionable bad guy in Recipe. While he will eventually find love and joy in his future, there is only hatred and sorrow in his past… Continue

God gave me a "mission" - Find out why in my book "MIssion Possible"

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to stand in the gap for your mate’s soul. This small book is a powerful tool for any woman who is married to a man who does not share her passion for Jesus. Every woman knows someone who is struggling with this in their marriage.

During an intense time of intercessory prayer God laid on my heart ot write this book. It is my personal testimony of how God directed me to pray for my husband and… Continue

What My Logo Is All About

When it came time to form my publishing company, the name - Faith Inspired Books - came quite easily. I believe firmly that each and every one of my stories is a special blessing from God, so the idea that I'm inspired through my faith was pretty elemental. But coming up with a logo, for a while, seemed just about impossible. How can you illustrate a concept like inspired faith? How impossible is that?! I tried angels and hearts, Bibles and strong, beautiful trees. But nothing felt… Continue
