I am a newbie writer. I finally decided to schedule time to write. I thought about training for a 5K. My time came down to writing or training. I chose writing. With HomeSchooling though I am only getting about 2 hours a day. I school year round 3 weeks on and 1 week off. On those weeks off I should be able to get some more writing in a few days a week.

Raye Ann... try getting in a few minutes each day...like before the kids get up, and after devotions. Time in the presence of the Lord is so inspiring! Then, when your week off comes, you might be surprised how much you can accomplish!
just a thought ; )

Mid~~I was able to shedule 2 hours a day about 4 days a week. I think I will try some brain storming at the end of my Bible Study every morning. That is a great idea thanks. On my week off I have one day of scheduling and lesson planing for school. Then one to two days we have feild trips. That's the plan on the new schedule. The word says work six and rest one. So we school 6 days a week.

Wow, home schooling! How many children? What ages/grades? I'm was a 4th/4th grade teacher in another life (gifted, too). I'm fortunate that my three (5th grade, 9th grade, and 10th grade) go off to school and I'm left to my own devices for most of the day (God Bless My Husband!!) A routine is important - for you and the kids! And Mid's write - let it fit into your crazy schedule. I do a lot of thought before I write which could be done when you're exercising, showering, lying in bed in the a.m. or p.m. ... Also, make yourself have a "homework/study" time when the kids have theirs. That way you're ALL working. It will be good for you but also good for the kids to see you working, too. Just a thought.

Susan~~I have 5 kids. There are 4 boys ages 9 -15 and my daughter is 2 1/2. With Steve's new job I am having to spend some time rearranging the set up in our home and making out a new schedule. Lots to do between now and the second week of Jan.

Blessings, Raye Ann... I know what that is like! I had 7 at home that I homeschooled... our 4 daughters through... our sons went to regular school when our youngest, Ty, now 20, started first grade. Didn't feel I could do the math (so to speak) ;)
They all were honor students ~ Ty was the Valedictorian for his class and was in the top 2% in the nation! What a blessing...
Have fun with your children...they grow up fast! My oldest is 43...and there are 11 more!!! ; )

WOW Mid that is a crew. I would love to have a crew like that. They grow up way to fast. I cried during the children's blessing the day my now 15 year old was no longer being covered by the men and the tallits during. I cried even more when our young men led the service and he was one of those surrounding the children with the tallits. This past Aug. my second born turned 13.

I'm looking for someone to write an article for my digital magazine; the theme is back to school. The magazine will be released in August.
