The Name of Jesus Forbidden
The rulers of the time just didn’t know what to do with Peter and John. They saw their boldness and they felt that Peter and John were uneducated and untrained men and they marveled by the influence they had over the people.
They saw the man who was healed standing with Peter and John and the rulers could say nothing. They knew that a miracle had taken place and they couldn’t deny that. So they decided to severely threaten them that from then on they could not speak to anyone in the name of Jesus.
So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
1. So what did the rulers do next?
2. Why did they choose to do this?
3. How old was the man that was healed?
Thank you again for being involved in the study. I hope to be up to doing one on Monday but have come down with a stomach virus so not feeling to good. But Lord willing I will be able to post on Monday. Bonnie
You know Bonnie, it is alright if you do not get it posted on the same day each week, or even skip some if you do not feel like doing it. I understand that you may not always feel like doing it or even something else might come up.
I like my computer, but it does not take priority over my family and friends. I have not been feeling very well myself. I have a lot of trouble with my back, feet and legs. My artiritis acts up in the most "inopertune" time. Is that a real word???? I will talk to you latter and take care of yourself!
Thanks. I like doing the study but one week I realized I hadn't done it so I just waited for the next week. I am sorry you are not feeling good. I know how arthirtis goes I have three kinds. So the pain can get pretty bad at times.
So there may be weeks that you might not see a study and the reason will be that I don't feel up to doing it as my pain hits my shoulders and back.
Again, I do appreciate you responding to the study.
