I have prayed about it and I will be willing to take over this group. I feel it is important not only to read the Word but dig deep into it and that is what I enjoy most about Bible study and receive the most blessings.
Bonnie I am so glad that you feel led by God to modearate this wonderful Bible Study! I will be looking forward to following along with you and go by your discussions. Will you be starting over at the beginning of the book of Acts? It is great that you want to do this and you can make your own rules on how do the study! Yeah!
Praise the Lord Jesus! I am so very thankful for you!!
I offer my love and Prayers for you and each one of us who will be participating in this study!! In God we trust here in this "Bible Study" group!!!
I think I will start over again. So everyone can start at one place. I will be typing out King James Version of the Bible but then using other study guides to help us understand what is taking place. There will be questions for you to think about and if anyone wants to share their answers that would be also.
I will be going by how the Lord leads me. So some days may have one verse, more than one verse, or maybe just one word. I think reading a whole chapter and trying to deal with that is a little much. But may have you read the chapter to get the content but will just study what we will be talking about for the day.
Not sure how many times of week to do it. For I want everyone to be able to read it and digest it before go on to another portion. So need prayer on this part of it.
Thank you for your encouraging words. I love to study the Bible with other people and share with them what the Lord is teaching me and what others are learning also.
Bonnie I am sorry I have not been online much lately as I am getting the flowers ready for a wedding. I want to be finished by this next week-end because the wedding is on the 10th. of September and I want to have the kids flowers ready for them just in case they want me to change anything.
I am concerned if I will even be staying on here for the Bible study or groups of any kind because Miss Noelle is selling CWA. We will see I guess.
I am sorry to hear that Miss Noelle is selling CWA. But I have decided to do the Bible Study on Tuesdays and hopefully in the morning so that it will get posted. Some days I work in the morning but I have got some ready for those days. I am looking forward to doing the study on Acts. And I know that Miss Noelle has prayed about her decision and the person who takes over for her will do what is right for the group.
Today is the day that we will start the Bible Study. Sorry it took me so long to start it but now is a good time. So here is the first lesson.
In the Amplified Bible in the introduction to the book of Acts it provides the basic history of the spread of Christianity during the three decades immediately following the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It also states the book of Acts traces the expansion of the early church and the ministry of the followers of Christ. Peter is the central figure in the establishment of the church in Jerusalem. Then Paul becomes the foremost leader so the major part of the book of Acts is devoted to Paul and his mission. The Holy Spirit is also mentioned many times in this book. And there was conflict as the Gentile were added to the church. Those who were Jewish felt that the Gentiles needed to do all that the Jews did, such as being circumcised, but that was not necessary for the Gentiles to do.

Acts 1:1-3 (KJV)*
“The former treatise, have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: to whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.
Let’s Have A Closer Look
1. Who wrote the book of Acts?
2. Who was this letter written to?
3. Why was he writing this letter?
4. How many days after Jesus was resurrected did He appear to His disciples?
5. What did Jesus talk about during those days?
* I am using the King James Version of the Bible because it is not copyrighted. At times I may use The Amplified Bible or the New King Version to explain the verses a little better. Please feel free to use your own version of the Bible to read the verses and answer the questions.
Look forward in doing this study. Bonnie
I was wondering if you want me to comment here when I have studied the chosen scriptures or post them on my own page?
Yeah! I am so glad to be a part of this study! Thank you Bonnie!
You can post them here. That way everyone will know to come here to see answers and replies. I will write a comment now so people will know. I didn't think about it so thank you for asking.
I forgot to mention that you can reply to the answers and any discussion you have to the study of Acts on this page and then everyone will be all in one place. I hope you will feel free to put down your comments and what you have learned and if there is anything that you have applied to your life.
Thank you for allowing me to do this study and I am looking forward into having a great time together and with God as we do this study.

The Holy Spirit Promised
The next topic we are going to look at in our study in Acts is the promise of the Holy Spirit. This is very important part of our life as believers because without the Holy Spirit we would not have the guidance that is needed to live the Christian Life. For the apostles it was needed especially because they were going out and reaching those in their world. The Holy Spirit again is important to us as we go and reach those in our world.
Acts 1:4-8 (KJV)
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
