Have you ever felt like the Israelites going around the same old mountain (situation or circumstance) over and over
again? Have you ever practically swear to yourself (or even to your family and
friends) that this same time next year I am going to be better; my life is
going to be better?” Well, I have!
As a matter of fact, I feel like I’m dried out, nonproductive, not living up to my potential, wanting more in my life,
wanting to make an impact for the kingdom of God!! And yet it all seems so
elusive to me! It seems so out of my reach! There’s almost this quiet
desperation that I feel! I want to cry, curse, and scream! I get quiet, I pray
and I pray and yet my God is silent or I don’t hear Him and enters the feelings
of frustration, the complaints – like the Israelites? Maybe.
This writing came out from my emotional pain I feel today as I just described above. I believe this is an answer from
the Holy Spirit to my emotional pain I am feeling in my heart and soul today. I
have come to learn that when I experience days like this and God speaks to me
through my writing it is usually not just for me. There are other Christian
sisters and brothers who experience this; it does not mean we don’t love God or
we don’t believe His Word. In the midst of our emotional pain, God is showing
us something and want us to see it, give it to Him and allow Him to heal it and
to bring needed correction. I pray that you will be blessed and receive this
inspired writing from the Lord through me.
This first part came as a result of me feeling like my life’s in a drought, and as I was reading Isaiah 58: 11, “The
LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and
strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of
water, whose waters do not fail.” This is what I heard in my spirit:
Don’t be moved by what you see or don’t see. Don’t let the enemy of your soul to deceive you through your emotions.
Don’t allow the enemy to speak his lies into your heart. Don’t allow the enemy
to plant corrutible seed (his lies) into the garden and soil of your heart.
Because the moment that you do that, and begin watering his seed (speaking it),
it will produce or harvest of rotten fruit. This type of fruit when eaten
(believed) is designed to kill, steal, and destroy your life.
The reason you are in a drought is because you have failed to water the incorruptible seed (God’s Word) that has already
been planted or sown into your garden and soil of your heart. Whenever you fail
to water your seed (God’s Word), it will ultimately dry up and fail to produce
good fruit in your life. Stop watering the weeds (Satan’s Words), and they will
die! Start watering the seed of God’s Word (continually) and you will reap a
harvest of bountiful fruit in your life! Enough to feed you and others around
you!!
Second Part – God reveals to me why some of us experience a drought (death) in
our gardens and why others have well-watered (life) gardens that flourish. This
is the question I heard myself ask God in my mind, “How can we recognize
whether we’re watering the seeds of God or the weeds of the devil?” Here’s
the I heard in my spirit:
The first thing we need to do is to is to give ourselves a checkup from the neck up! In other words, we will know by the
words that we are speaking! We will know by the kinds of thoughts we are
thinking. Matthew 34b says, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth
speaks.”
No matter how many words or sentences we speak in a day or the multitude of thoughts we have in a given day, we are
creating our world, and there are only two outcomes that we can expect – life
or death! Proverbs 18:21, NKJV says, “Death and life are in the power of the
tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
There is power in our tongues; therefore, we have to stop being so careless with the words that we speak! Some people
will say, “It don’t take all that!” or say, “I’m was just joking” whenever
others are at the brunt of their coarse jokes. However, it does take all that
and some. We have the power to create death and life, not only in our own
lives, but in the lives of those around us. What we say to or about them –
face-to-face or behind their backs – does matter! We are creating death or life
for them. We are actually cursing them with word curses! Selah (meditate or
think about this)! Proverbs 18:7 NLT say, “The mouths of fools are their ruin;
their lips get them into trouble.”
